European River Cruise - A More Affordable Luxury Cruise Vacation
By Harwood E Woodpecker

Cruise holidays have been growing in popularity for the past few years with more and more families looking to take their first family cruise as their annual vacation. Although the cost of many of the cruises is very reasonable for what you receive there is still a large proportion of families who find the cost of a two week luxury cruise too expensive for what they can afford and what they would usually spend. So what option do a family have who want to experience all of the fun and luxury of a cruise but do not have the money to spend on a two week luxury cruise?

A good compromise for a family who cannot afford to take a two week luxury cruise holiday is to instead book a week long European river cruise, these offer all of the benefits and luxury of a major sea cruise but on a smaller ship and at a fraction of the cost, making them more affordable to most families.

For a family who book a European river cruise you will usually fly out to one of the major European cities where the cruise will depart from and there you will meet your ship, this ship will then take you on a voyage down some of the most famous and beautiful rivers on the continent. As many of the rivers that you will cruise down go through some of the most major cities in Europe a European river cruise is a fantastic way to visit many major cities on one holiday without the hassle of having to negotiate foreign roads, just sit back and wait for the next city to come to you.

Even though the ships that you will travel on during a European river cruise are much smaller than their ocean going cousins they are no less luxuriant and the service that you can expect whilst travelling is no less wonderful. You can expect every bit as good food and drink on you European river cruise and service that would make some of the best hotels in the world envious. Accommodation onboard the ship is wonderful with a room service that is too match , each day you will have a maid service and each night you will have your bed turned down for you.

Even though a European river cruise ship is smaller than an ocean going ship the facilities on board are no less numerous with most ships boasting a ball room, plentiful bars and restaurants, possibly a cinema as well as numerous viewing decks from which you will be able to admire the scenery and the architecture of many of the most beautiful European countries and cities.

A European river cruise is a very affordable way to take a cruise holiday and suits many people more so than a full blown ocean going cruise. A European river cruise is generally an easier going vacation with more emphasis on sight seeing and relaxation rather than organised entertainment. If you want organised entertainment you can find it but it is lower key than a family orientated sea cruise. A European river cruise offers you all the luxury associated with an ocean going cruise but at a much more affordable price. If you are new to cruising holidays or if you fancy a change why not look at booking a European river cruise for your vacation this year?
